DVD won’t play in Hardy Heron

Posted on July 1, 2008 | Category: Hardy Heron, dvd

I got myself a dvd of the Irish film Garage and after a long day sat back to enjoy it on my computer and to my surprise it didn’t work.
All I got was a “Can’t read from source” error.
I thought I’d all the codecs installed, but it seems it has something to do with encryption. Well, I paid good money for it on Amazonimage so I had no worries about that.

Anyway, the solution is to go to System->Help and Support, then Music, Videos and Photos, then Playing DVDs.

Great film, by the way, if you like films about real people.

Update: I completely forgot that Ubuntu Tutorials had blogged about this just the other night. It might be simpler to go there first.
