Installed new kernel last night (from 2.6.22-24-14-generic to Latest Kernel Prepatch: 2.6.24-rc4 ). Ongoing problems (no wireless, no sound, though usb hdd is loading), but in the meantime, here’s a useful link. The dmesg command
I ran a Memory Test as per one of Aldeby‘s suggestions. What I didn’t realise what that it runs in a loop. I let it run for 22 hours (48 passes) without it showing any faults, so I’m presuming it’s fine. ubuntu forums on Memtest
